Reminder that each of us faces daily stress of some sort of another. Make sure you have a nice daily practice to decompress! Whatever fits your life, short sets, sword sets, just a move or too. Protect yourself!
Tai Chi Breathing (Qigong) works well for this. Lifting water... raising palms. I take long slow deep breaths to a balanced breathing pattern of 4-6 breaths per minute. Inhale, 1, 2, 3, 4. Exhale 4, 3, 2, 1. That's heart coherent breathing that balances the nervous system. It's been well studied for use in reducing stress and anxiety. It reduces cortisol response by 20%. It's the same breathing pattern as used by HeartMath and therapists for 365 breathing (3x a day, 6 breaths a minute, for 5 minutes). Those use counting, but I go deeper doing it as mindful movement/moving meditation linking breath to motion, closing the eyes to relax more making a shift in brainwaves possible as well, no need to count once you get the feel for it.
